I found this over at Superlevel today. Above is a screengrab from Ted Marten’s Fireplace Beta. More than just a screensaver, Fireplace Beta Creates a full screen 8 bit fire blazing on your desktop. You can add another log to the fire, thus ensuring a constant roar of flickering pixels, you can roast marshmallows, hotdogs, make smores and even watch 8bit paper or photos burn. If you’re having an 8 bit Christmas this year, which now I think I might, this is the software for you.
